A fundraising benefit that sells no products and is environmentally responsible. COTA families receive 100% of the current recycling value for each recyclable cell phone and spent printer ink cartridge collected by their campaign volunteers. The amount received varies per item and is determined by the recycler based on current market values.
Collect and donate cell phones and spent ink-jet printer cartridges! No bag-type or analog phones are accepted and no toner cartridges are accepted. (No laser cartridges, please.)
Phone Recycling. You may remove the SIM card that may contain personal information or address book entries. SIM cards are not used or recycled. Leave the memory card in the phone as it may be needed for the phone to work.
The phone will be reformatted, erasing all data downloaded or entered into the phone. Pictures, addresses, games, mp3’s will all be deleted by the recycler.
Chargers do not have a monetary value. It is not necessary to donate them.
Broken phones do have a value for recycling of parts or precious metals. Please donate them and keep them out of the landfill.
Even older phones are programmed for use as emergency phones and donated to organizations that work with abuse shelters, senior groups and law enforcement.
